We
will be seeing the temperatures warm soon. Time
to enjoy some new fresh flowers and green grass.
As of the writing of this newsletter, there is
no additional information to report regarding the
food recall since the discovery of the Aminopterin
in the contaminated food. Please refer to my latest
email from Saturday March 24th for more info. I will try
to update again in a week as more information becomes available.
Spay & Neuter Clinic
I recently participated with the Merrimack
River Feline Rescue Group Spay and Neuter Clinic
held at the MSPCA Nevins Farm in Methuen. Along
with many other volunteers, we helped spay and
neuter 77 cats: 47 males and 28 females. These
are all feral cats that are trapped by numerous
local groups. What a huge difference made
in overpopulation of feral cats!
Fundraising Efforts
I will be raising funds for DIABETES. This
is my new cause! With several of my triathlon
friends, I will be participating in the Ride for
Jules III , a spin-a-thon March 31st as well as
the Tour De Cure in Gloucester, a 100K bicycle
ride in June. I hope to raise at least $1500,
hopefully more! Diabetes can also affect
dogs and cats so advancements in treatment and
prevention for humans can also help my patients.
Please consider making a donation next time you
are at the clinic or go to www.diabetes.org/tour and
log onto my page by sponsoring me as Nancy Hatfield.
TICK TIME!!
Remember ticks are out in
New England all year round but they are starting
to show their presence again! We recommend
the use of K9Advantix for all our dog patients
over 8 weeks of age.
It protects against ticks, mosquitos and fleas. Ticks
can carry not only the Lyme disease organism but
also Ehrlichia and Anaplasma, two other tick borne
diseases.
